More Mickey mouse cupcakes

I'm making a cake and cupcakes and my whole family is over cooking, chatting and having fun. When I'm working on a cake I like to listen to music, but I broke my phone yesterday. And I just broke my earphones today! I have no idea how both happened. When I went to use them they didn't work. I'm so mad, Ugh. Well, I'm done with the cupcakes. As seen below, Or above, my new phone posts pictures weird. I'll be done with the cake later. If everything else goes right! Hopefully.

At it again

Doing another mickey mouse cake for someone's birthday. I'm kind of tired of mickey mouse at this point. Waiting for someone to challenge me. I've done 3 mickey mouse cakes, although one was a minnie mouse cake that I thought was really good. But let me get back to the cake. Post later.

Cupcakes!

Doing homework. I got a lot to do this weekend so I will be posting like every so often. I'm also getting ready for my birthday in a month. I'll be 22. I'm pretty excited..

Cupcakes galore!

I had to do a party for someone abd they told me to just be creative and go crazy with chocolate. So. This was fun. Never did a strawberry abd chocolate. I made a strawberry buttercream & a peanut buttercream for both my icing. They turned out great! I got a lot of positive feedback.

Oh my gosh

I normally blog at least every day.  Its just been a long week for me. Studying, typing papers, baking, my personal life. I barely have had my phone on me. I feel like I'm neglecting my blog. I have so much to say about my weekend though. I just need tune to type it all.

So tired

I've had an extremely long weekend and I'm so tired. The only way to describe my weekend is many pictures & posts. I keep forgetting to blog because I'm so busy. Ugh. But here I go.

Thursday

I'm panicking a little bit because I have so much to do in so little time. I'm making a birthday cake with cupcakes & another set of birthday cupcakes. All different flavors so I can't cheat & share. I'm baking right now. Just thought I'd post about it. Be back later with pictures!

The Mickey Mouse cake I did

Remember the Mickey Mouse cake I dd for a baby shower. They sent me pictures of it a while back I forgot to post everything at the party. But they sent me how they looked after I left. How beautiful :) 

Baby nephew

I'm so in love with my nephew Dj. He just makes me smile and cry when I think about him. He is so beautifully handsome. He is so smart and funny. He came into this world with his own amazing personality and he makes me so speechless. I never felt so much love and admiration for someone. He's not even my child and I love him like he could be. I just wanna be the best aunt to him. I can't wait for the rest of his amazing life.

Thursday I made my nephew and my sister a cake. I was influenced by a ballon I saw the day he was born. We were just waiting for him to come into this world, and I was so excited. Someone brought a ballon and candy to the room. The ballon was a big heart with a bear holding it. I took a picture so I could remember what it looked like, and I went home and made it when I had some free time.

New love in my life

Yesterday at 7:34pm my brother and his girlfriend had a baby boy. In that moment, I never felt so many things before. I only have one sibling, my brother. So becoming an aunt, it's probably nothing to the next person, but to me it's everything! One minute I'm saying "see you later!" To my brother Nic and his gf Chelle, the next I'm saying hi to my nephew. I wanted to cry just looking at him. He is the most beautiful thing I ever saw. He has such big vibrant eyes that makes my heart melt. I catch myself just staring at pictures of him in my phone when I can't see him. It's just amazing. I was excited before, but him actually being in this world is crazy. I never felt so much love just by looking at him. It's amazing how he can make me smile. He's such a smart baby already, not even a week old. He's so observant, he would look all over the room at whoever is talking. At one point he even rolled his eyes at a comment someone said about his skin. I'm just so star struck by him. I miss him while I'm typing this. But for his and Chelles welcoming home get together, I'm gonna make her am individual cake. Just because I'm so happy and since I can't create a beautiful baby, I'll make a beautiful cake.

Mother's Day breakfast

. I forgot to post the big breakfast I made for everyone on Mother's Day. My mom, my granny, my two little cousins, my brother and his girlfriend. We all enjoyed breakfast. We had scrambled eggs, French toast, hashbrowns, biscuits, bacon, turkey sausage, sausage patties, ham and turkey ham. My spinach was getting a little soft, so I cooked half of it off in some Olive oil. That was our breakfast!

Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day, my mom and I went to the oyster bar downtown St. Louis. It's a little bar on the corner right next to a White Castle. They have an inside and outsite area, My mom and I ate outside. It felt really good outside, warm and windy. We ordered some oysters for our appetizer. But, it came after our actual meal. I ordered crawfish linguine and my mom ordered some fish tacos. The food was really good. I would definitely eat there again. 

2nd phase

I no longer have any space in my crappy phone, so this post is going to include pictures of everything I've done in school the past year. When I first started school I was so excited to learn everything about cooking. Everyday I would wake up extra early (3am to be exact) and I would iron all my clothes. I would do my hair a certain way, so it wouldn't bother me the whole day. And last but not least I would do my trade mark make up, my cat eye, or my winged eye. For the first couple of weeks school was amazing. Until i lost my best friend. After that I was damaged and lost. I tried to drop out of school cause I just couldn't wake up everyday for it. But long story short, I got through it. And I'm still getting through it. As soon as I got back into my routines, my other best friend died. My puppy blue. She was about 7 months. I'm not gonna lie it was really hard. But I did my best to stay in school and work hard. And shortly after that I got deans list. I was so proud of myself. My second phase was my best and favorite phase. My old instructor Chef Decoster, I loved him. He was do weird and funny. Even thought half the time we couldn't understand him, I think my whole class loved him. Any way. Here's some pics of food we made in his class.

Just found out I'm going to be doing a Incredible Hulk cake sometime soon. The thought of it, sounds intimidating. I haven't found a lot on hulk cakes. The ones I've seen are mostly the same. But I'm going to try to do something different.

Date night

Last night my boyfriend and I went shopping for cake supplies. Along with all the fondant, flour and other ingredients. We came up with an idea to cook dinner for eachother that night. I made lemon pepper chicken breasts, which he loves. I also made mashed potatoes and string beans. He made his famous macaroni.  I lt was so good. It's his own recipe, Atleast that's what he said. It was some spicy queso sauce, pepperoni, and pepper jack cheese. Just some things he had mixed up in there. I thought it would've been a hot mess, but it was good. 

Birthday BBQ / alcoholic cupcakes

This year for my 22nd birthday I'm going to have a BBQ. When I was younger I use to go to six flags, or just hang with friends. Now that I'm older, and barely have any friends, I'm just having a small get together. It's mostly family and a couple of friends. I did the sane thing last year it was fun. I hate the summer and I hate that my birthday falls in one of the hottest months. It's always scorching hot on my birthday. I wish my birthday was between the fall and winter. But then I wouldn't be an awesome cancer :). This year I'm going to try a lot of alcoholic recipes for cupcakes. I've seen a lot of ideas going on about what types of alcohols with what type of flavors. I'm going to use a lot of peach ciroc. I found some types of whipped cream vodka, I've tasted some and they ate extremely strong! I'm pretty excited to see if people can get drunk off of cupcakes, lol.

Disney

I have a lot of requests for Mickey and Minnie Mouse cakes and cupcakes this month. Of course after finals. I'm not gonna be trying to study and putting all my efforts into a cake. I love baking and money but my grades come first. I have two birthday parties on my agenda close to the end of the month. My boyfriends daughter Minnie Mouse cake is due around the 20th-23rd of this month. Depending on the party date. And I have a Mickey Mouse cake due the last day of May, which I think is the 31st. I'm pretty psyched about it, but I always worry about the pack up/delivery. Still have no cupcake boxes. That's a real bummer. I'll just have to improvise I guess.

Fish fry Friday

I spent my Friday at my boyfriends family house, they had a fish fry. We were there litterally the whole day. It was fun, meeting a lot of people, music, food! I had a great day. Me and my boyfriend shared like 3 plates of food. Spaghetti, tilapia, catfish, it was all so good. 

My schools restaurant

I attend L'Ecole Culinaire in ladue, St. Louis, and I ate dinner at the restaurant yesterday. I went with my two best friends on our one hour lunch break. I never ate at the restaurant with other students serving me, I only are there when I was working there. So it was a cool experience and it was fun. Everything on the menu was under fifteen dollars. Now, I wasn't originally going to eat over there. I made myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. And it was pretty darn good too. But we went ahead and ate there. We all were so lost on the menu, they had so many things with words we couldn't understand. At times we felt so dumb, we had to google certain words on the menu. In the end we all ordered the same thing in different ways. We all ordered a burger with fries. Because a burger sounded so good, especially the way the server explained it. Now, I feel really bad I can't remember the names of everything we ate. For a starter they served us some asparagus with I believe feta cheese, tomato and mandarin slices. That was deliscious. 

But before that they gave us some fried cheese with Mexican salsa, if I remember it correctly. 

And the burger came and I was so happy. I hadn't had a burger in so long, and it was soooooooooo good! I think mine came with some kimchi sauce, I have no idea what that is but it was sweet and tangy. 

My meal (with my student discount) came out to be eight dollas and some change instead of twelve & change. My burger was so big after I added everything on it. It was hard to take a bite outta the while thing. I had to cut it in fours. But it was worth it. Not to mention I was there longer than an hour & ended up late for class. I'm not gonna say it was better than my pb&j, cause I can make a great one. But it was really good and I can see myself going broke eating there every lunch break. :)
